I would like to leave here a special mention for Eugenio Gonzalez Ordás. Leones based in Logroño, friend, adventure partner and largely responsible for this project finally seeing the light. He was directly responsible for getting me interested in this concept of road or adventure cycling, perhaps because he repeated to me over and over again that «gravel is adventure»… Although it is true that this idea borns during a period in which we worked together, he has been the person who has helped me with the planning on the ground and who, even though he is a foreigner from this land, took me cycling through places that were completely unknown to me, until one winter day in 2022 we ride across a place that was the key to linking the tour.

Only a couple of months later I started to do it solo, and once done, he once again came to ride with me to see other sections that I was able to see during the test ride, and from there, create some modifications to be able to offer you, an even more enriching tour if possible. Eugenio is also responsible for having baptized this thing, Ibérica Norte, since his was the proposal after a long time evaluating different names for the route together. As a person who loves the bicycle and everything that spins around it, I believe that Eugenio has to have his space and a few words for him in this project. Thanks Amigo.
I also want to mention Ernesto Pastor, creator of the Montañas Vacías project. That project was a source of inspiration for me a few years ago, to start something similar in my area. After having traveled through Montañas Vacías with Eugenio, I was impressed with Ernesto’s work, and that was another incentive to investigate even more in Ibérica Norte. In addition, the tour joins at some point with his XL Montañas Vacías tour. Ernesto was probably the spark that ignited the flame in many other travelers wanting to share kilometers through their land.
Finally, to Sergio Soriano, the best graphic designer I know and who has always been there to help me with the image and map of Northern Iberia that I admire like a little gem. Also to Alvaro for helping me improve my computer skills. To Manu for the trips and some photos of the animals included in the guide. Reyes, Ele, Jorge, Vila, Josue, Adrian and many others who have selflessly shown their support and endured long talks about this work, while we pedaled together. To all of them, Thank you.
